Murder of 31 refugees from Oronqoy and Chillihua in Chaupimayo

Between October and November 1986, soldiers from the Pallqas base killed 31 refugees from the Oronqoy and Chillihua communities in Chaupimayo. The victims had sought refuge in that area fleeing the armed conflict.

Inhabitants of the Oronqoy and Chillihua communities who had taken refuge in Chaupimayo were killed by soldiers from the Pallqas base. The event occurred between October and November 1986, in the context of counter-subversive operations in the Chungui area. The victims were refugees who had fled their communities due to the internal armed conflict. This event is part of the extrajudicial executions committed by State forces during the most violent period of the conflict in the region.
