First attack on Radio Onda Azul

Radio Onda Azul in Puno was attacked for the first time on August 3, 1986, allegedly by the Shining Path PCP. The station suffered a second attack in July 1988.

Radio Onda Azul was attacked twice by alleged members of the Shining Path PCP. The first attack occurred on August 3, 1986, and later the station was attacked again on July 3 and 5, 1988. These attacks were part of a broader campaign against the media and opponents of the regime. In the context of Puno, there were also attacks against other institutions such as the Federation of Peasants, the NGO TECIRA and the homes of former Izquierda Unida deputies.
