Arrest and disappearance of Teófilo Rímac Capcha

Teófilo Rímac Capcha, leader of the FOCEP, was arrested by the military on June 23, 1986 and taken to the Carmen Chico military base in Cerro de Pasco, from where he was never released. Days later his assassination was confirmed.

On June 23, 1986, the military arrived at the house of Teófilo Rímac Capcha, leader of the FOCEP (Frente Obrero Campesino y Estudiantil del Perú), whom they arrested along with others and transferred to the Carmen Chico military base. He was the only one who never left the military base. According to his wife's testimony, on June 27 she already had news that her husband had been killed. Teófilo Rímac Capcha was one of the most important union leaders formed in the FOCEP, together with Seferino Requis.
