Murder at Wakauta farm

The PCP-Sendero Luminoso killed 7 people in the Wakauta farm of the ERPS Kunurama in Puno, as part of its offensive against the associative enterprises created by the Agrarian Reform.

On June 17, 1986, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso assassinated 7 people who were taken to the Wakauta farm, belonging to the Kunurama Rural Social Property Company (ERPS). This event occurred in the context of a PCP-SL offensive in Puno that had begun in May 1986, which included multiple attacks against the SAIS (Agricultural Societies of Social Interest) and associative enterprises resulting from the Agrarian Reform. The associative companies had become the target of attacks by the Shining Path, in a period when conflicts over land restructuring and land seizures by organized peasants were also taking place.
