PCP-SL attack on ERPS Kunurana with murder of seven APRA workers

Approximately 200 people were forced by the PCP-SL to participate in the looting of the ERPS Kunurana facilities. During the attack, seven APRA workers were killed with extreme cruelty: their ears and tongues were cut off, and one had his eyes gouged out. While the mass received a speech, the victims were executed. The Ayaviri police caught up with the Shining Path detachment at the Chuquibambilla bridge, resulting in a confrontation that left two Shining Path casualties. This attack was a milestone in the escalation of violence in the province of Melgar.
