On June 7, 1986, President Alan Garcia met with media owners asking for their collaboration in the counter-subversive struggle. That same day, after going to the Plaza Bolognesi for the ceremony of the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, small bombs exploded, frustrating his presence. Respecting a gentlemen's agreement, the evening news did not mention the fact, although the agreement was diluted in the following days after the massacre of the prisons.
