From February 9 to 14, 1986, the Third Central Committee of the MRTA (Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement) was held. This event represented a meeting of the leadership of this subversive organization to define strategies and political lines. The CVR Report document briefly mentions this event in the context of the political violence in the country during the first government of Alan Garcia Perez. During that period, the MRTA maintained a different line from the PCP-Sendero Luminoso, having previously granted a truce to the APRA government.
