Unification of Police Forces
Unification of the Peruvian Police Forces on February 5, 1986, as part of the Alan García Pérez government's reforms. This measure followed the approval of a police reorganization law in August 1985.
On February 5, 1986, the unification of the Peruvian Police Forces took place. This measure was part of the reforms implemented during the administration of Alan Garcia Perez. Previously, on August 15, 1985, Congress had passed a law declaring the reorganization of the Police Forces. On August 19, 1985, the governmental decision was announced to dismiss and retire 37 generals from the Police Forces as part of this restructuring process.
