PCP-SL places cadres in drug trafficking firms
In 1986, the PCP-SL managed to place three or four paintings in each drug firm in Tocache after negotiations that were well received by the drug traffickers. This agreement coincided with an increase in drug flights from Tocache's municipal airport.
In 1986, after an initial contact with drug traffickers, the PCP-SL obtained authorization to place three or four of its cadres in each of the drug trafficking firms. This agreement was welcomed by most of the drug traffickers. That same year, drug flights began to leave the Tocache municipal airport in force, sometimes up to four or five times a day. Subsequently, the PCP-SL suggested to the firm's bosses that they invest in the work of the Shining Paths by bringing in weapons of war from Colombia, which allowed the PCP-SL to strengthen its presence and control in the area.
