The mining sector in the central region has gone through the worst period of the year.

The period between 1986 and 1989 was the most bloody for the mining sector in the central region of Peru, characterized by the violence of the PCP-SL, work stoppages, economic losses in the millions and the militarization of the mining centers.

Between 1986 and 1989, the mining sector in the central region of Peru experienced its most bloody period. This period was characterized by the intensification of political violence that seriously affected mining workers and the sector's economic activity. The violent actions of the PCP-SL caused millions of dollars in losses and stoppages that seriously affected mining activity. Despite the terror imposed, the mine workers maintained a heroic resistance. This situation led to the total militarization of the mining centers and camps as well as structural changes in the sector.
