Shining Path attack on San Genaro mining center

A 10-member Shining Path column attacked the San Genaro mining center in Huancavelica in November 1985, dynamiting part of its infrastructure.

In November 1985, a column of 10 hikers entered the San Genaro mining center in Huancavelica. The attackers dynamited part of the mine's infrastructure. This attack was part of a series of PCP-SL raids against mining centers in the Huancavelica region during that period. The attack on San Genaro occurred in the same month that Shining Path also attacked the Centromín Perú Unit in Cerro de Pasco and dynamited the facilities of the Caudalosa Grande mine.
