Massacre of Accomarca - Operation Huancayoc

Massacre of 62 peasants in Accomarca by military patrol under the command of Sub-Lieutenant Telmo Hurtado during an anti-subversive operation.

On August 14, 1985, military personnel from the Lince 6 and Lince 7 patrols, under the command of Sub-Lieutenant Telmo Hurtado Hurtado, executed the "Operational Plan Huancayoc". The military gathered the inhabitants of Lloqllapampa in the house of Alejandro Gamboa de la Cruz and separated men, women and children into different rooms. Telmo Hurtado ordered to shoot at the detainees and threw a grenade, causing an explosion and fire. Subsequently, they killed an elderly person and three girl sisters, setting the house on fire. The massacre resulted in 62 people killed, including 26 children and 34 adults.
