Extrajudicial execution of seven detainees by military in Pucayacu after decision by higher commanders

On August 7, 1985, seven people detained at the Castropampa Military Base were extrajudicially executed in Pucayacu. On August 6 at noon, Lieutenant Colonel David Lama Romero, Major Wilmer Campos Hermoza, Lieutenant Enrique De la Cruz Salcedo and Warrant Officer Jose Gutierrez Herrada decided to eliminate the detainees. On August 7, the victims were taken in a UNIMOG truck under the command of Lieutenant De la Cruz. In the vicinity of the Allcco Machay bridge, seven soldiers dug a grave. Sub Officer José Gutiérrez Herrada executed each victim with two shots in the head using Lieutenant Colonel Lama's HK machine gun, while Lieutenant De la Cruz lowered them from the truck. The bodies were buried in the mass grave.
