Arrest of Dionicia Villarroel Villanueva

Arrest of woman by military in operation with theft of goods and transfer to barracks

On August 4, 1985, Dionicia Villaroel Villanueva was arrested by Army troops at the home of Víctor Curo Pariona in Huanta. The arrest was related to the previous arrest of her husband Marino Suárez Huamaní, who had been accused of participating in subversive meetings. The soldiers asked her about a certain 'Lico', and when she answered that she did not know anything, they took her out of the house while they forced the other people to lie down on the floor, pointing guns at them. The soldiers also stole things from Victor Curo's store before leaving with the detainee to the Castropampa barracks.
