MRTA suspends military actions against Alan Garcia's government
The MRTA leadership suspended military actions against the incoming government of Alan Garcia, considering that the majority of the people had placed their hopes in the APRA party for a radical change in their situation. This move came as a surprise to all and sundry and was announced in a clandestine press conference by Victor Polay Campos. However, they reserved the right to take political-military actions against imperialism, the repressive forces and the companies.
