Engineer murdered in Vinchos

PCP-SL militants murdered an engineer in the town of Vinchos, Pallanchacra district, where a mineral concentrator of the Vinchos Mining Company was operating.

On June 19, 1985, PCP-SL militants murdered an engineer in the town of Vinchos, district of Pallanchacra, where a mineral concentrator of the Vinchos Mining Company was located. This murder was part of the Shining Path strategy of attacking mining companies and eliminating technical and administrative personnel. The event occurred in the context of the expansion of subversive activities in the highlands of the department of Pasco. The people of Vinchos also remember the assassination of the community president's wife in 1983.
