Confrontation in Hatunpampa
Confrontation between Hatunpampa ronderos and the PCP-SL in Vilcabamba. It is part of the organized peasant resistance against Sendero Luminoso in the region.
The Hatunpampa ronderos confronted the PCP-SL in a combat that is part of the organized peasant resistance against the Shining Path in the Vilcabamba area. This confrontation occurred in the context of the expansion of the counter-subversive peasant patrols in the Apurimac River Valley and surrounding areas. In November of the same year, the PCP-SL restarted its actions by taking over several villages in Vilcabamba and recruiting youths between 10 and 18 years of age. On December 6, 1985, the ronderos of Totora also confronted the PCP-SL in the same area.
