In April and May 1985, after a subversive attack in the community of Chillihua, law enforcement and the ronderos of Pallqas and Chupón captured a total of 25 community members accused of being subversives. Subsequently, all of those captured were eliminated. This event took place in the context of widespread violence in the Chungui area, where law enforcement and peasant patrols carried out counter-subversive operations that frequently resulted in extrajudicial executions of villagers suspected of collaborating with Shining Path.
