Reorganización de las Fuerzas Policiales en Perú
At the end of the AP government, citizen security in Peru reached a critical point due to police involvement in drug trafficking and kidnapping crimes. In response, the PAP government announced a reorganization of the police, which included the dismissal of numerous officers and the improvement of operational equipment. This reorganization was aimed at combating corruption and improving coordination between the different police forces.
Las fuerzas policiales enfrentaban una crisis de credibilidad por corrupción, rivalidades interinstitucionales y violaciones de derechos humanos. El gobierno del PAP aprobó una Ley de reorganización policial encabezada por una comisión presidida por el ministro del Interior, Abel Salinas, que destituyó y jubiló a numerosos oficiales y subalternos. La medida también incluyó el equipamiento operativo a todo nivel con vehículos, armamento y recursos informáticos al año siguiente, mejorando la capacidad estatal contra la subversión armada.
