Executions in Pacllón

Between 1985 and 1986, the PCP-SL executed four people in Pacllón, Bolognesi: a school principal, a judge, a teacher and a farmer, accusing them of denouncing their activities to the police.

Between 1985 and 1986, an armed Shining Path column executed four people in Pacllón, Bolognesi province. The victims were Máximo Ibarra Paucar (director of the Educational Center), Judge Abelardo Duran Carrera, teacher Zósimo Mendoza Huaranga and farmer Joel Mendoza Huaranga. All of them were accused by the PCP-SL of having denounced to the police their organizational activities in the area. These executions were part of the Shining Path's strategy of eliminating those they considered obstacles to their organizational work in the Ancash highlands.
