Death of Gregoria Bocanegra Otiniano

Gregoria Bocanegra Otiniano was a leader of a welfare organization in La Libertad who was murdered in 1985. According to CVR records, the alleged perpetrators of her death were the PCP-SL (Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path). Her case is part of the PCP-SL's offensive against the leaders of popular and welfare organizations throughout the country. Gregoria was one of the first female leaders assassinated in the department of La Libertad during the internal armed conflict.
