Second trekking incursion in Pilchaca
Second Shining Path incursion in the district of Pilchaca in 1985, where they left letters threatening to execute the local authorities if they did not resign from their posts.
In 1985, the hikers returned for the second time to the Pilchaca district. During this incursion, they left letters addressed to local authorities demanding that they resign from their posts. The letters contained explicit threats indicating that if the authorities did not heed the resignation demand, they would be executed at any moment. According to the hikers, the authorities "already know" the consequences of not obeying their orders. This second visit was part of the Shining Path's strategy to eliminate or displace established local authorities.
