The police operation disarticulated MRTA plans to start a guerrilla movement in the Paucartambo area. Among those captured was MRTA member Luis Varese Scotto. Subsequently, on December 8, MRTA members kidnapped two Canal 2 journalists and demanded respect for the lives of MRTA members arrested in Paucartambo (Cuzco) on November 27.
