Land takeover AH José Carlos Mariátegui

Land seizure by 200 families from Barrios Altos and Callao who were looking for their own land due to rising rents. The State subsequently approved the land acquisition through ENACE in 1986.

The José Carlos Mariátegui Human Settlement arose as a result of a land seizure carried out on October 14, 1984, by a group of 200 families from the shantytowns of Barrios Altos and Callao. The families, faced with rising rents, organized themselves and decided to have their own land in this area. Subsequently, they applied for the land allocation and the State, through ENACE, approved and began to allocate and locate the settlers in 1986.
