There she was tortured and raped, despite having the guarantees of the Peruvian Episcopate and the Ministry of the Interior due to her status as a witness in the Uchuraccay case. This event occurred in the context of a rapid increase in human rights violations committed by the forces of law and order in areas declared under a state of emergency.
