Kidnapping of Víctor Rivas Ventura by hooded men

Young man with homosexual tendencies was kidnapped by hooded men and taken to a Marine base in Huanta.

On August 11, 1984, Victor Rivas Ventura was kidnapped by a group of people in civilian clothes while he was at his home. He was arrested in the presence of his mother and sister. The kidnappers were hooded men, wearing ponchos, tall in stature. A neighbor reported that his brother had been taken by a group of people to a Navy vehicle parked outside the Huanta Provincial Municipality. The next day, his mother went to the Marine barracks and could hear his voice from the door. Witnesses who were detained in the Stadium confirmed having seen him there, where the soldiers referred to him as 'the faggot'.
