Raid on Julia Sulca's home, mother of journalist Jaime Ayala
Home of journalist's mother was violently raided by PIP, her son was beaten and she was threatened.
In the early hours of August 2, 1984, the home of Julia Sulca Viuda de Ayala, mother of journalist Jaime Ayala, was allegedly raided by members of the Investigative Police. During the raid, her son Eduardo Ayala Sulca was kicked in the back and another in the face, causing a fractured nasal septum and loss of consciousness. Julia Sulca was threatened with a firearm and was told not to report the incident. This raid prompted journalist Jaime Ayala to go to the PIP and then to the Navy Base to file a complaint, where he was arrested and disappeared.
