Confrontation between Huaycán and Horacio Zevallos

Clash between residents of Huaycán and Horacio Zevallos over land dispute

A column of 5,000 people from Huaycán, armed with sticks and stones, rejected the 4,000 members of the Horacio Zevallos human settlement who were trying to occupy land in the ravine. The confrontations were stopped by the mediation of the main leaders of the conflicting sectors. The Horacio Zevallos Association, controlled by the Communist Party of Peru-Red Fatherland, had decided to withdraw from the coordination with the Municipality.
