Hiker attack in Coracora
On July 14, 1984, a Shining Path guerrilla raid in Coracora looted stores, set fire to the municipality and state offices, and killed the Zonal Director of Education Felix Gallegos and a policeman.
On July 14, 1984, members of the PCP-SL raided the town of Coracora, capital of Parinacochas province. During the attack, the Shining Pathists looted commercial stores in the town and set fire to the provincial municipality and some state offices. In this violent action they killed the Zonal Director of Education, Felix Gallegos, and a member of the police. This attack was part of the sporadic and selective actions that the PCP-SL carried out in Coracora during that period.
