Murder of 15 peasants on road from Ocros to Huamanga

Fifteen peasants traveling by truck were killed by the Shining Path on the road from Ocros to Huamanga, Ayacucho, for refusing to collaborate with the subversive group.

On June 12, 1984, on the road leading from Ocros to Huamanga in Ayacucho, 15 peasants traveling in a truck were murdered. The peasants were executed for refusing to collaborate with the PCP-SL (Shining Path). This event is part of the systematic violence exercised by the subversive group against the civilian population that refused to support their cause. The attack occurred on a transit route between localities in Ayacucho during the period of intensification of the internal armed conflict.
