Attack on the residence of Minister of Economy Carlos Rodriguez Pastor
The MRTA's Luis de la Puente Uceda guerrilla squad attacked the residence of Economy Minister Carlos Rodríguez Pastor on March 25, 1984 in Lima. This was one of the first attacks claimed by the MRTA after its founding.
On March 25, 1984, the Luis de la Puente Uceda guerrilla squad of the MRTA carried out an attack on the residence of the Minister of Economy, Carlos Rodríguez Pastor. This attack took place in a context of growing political violence in the country. The attack was part of the first actions claimed by the MRTA, an organization that had held its First Central Committee in January of the same year. Carlos Rodríguez Pastor had resigned as Minister of Economy in March, being replaced by José Benavides Muñoz.
