The Escorpio group carried out operations of annihilation, robberies and assaults of commercial houses in Ayacucho between 1984-85 and mid-1990. These operations were directed by Captain EP Martin Rivas, who responded to personal interests and operated in collusion with his commandos, taking advantage of the impunity granted by his membership in the military intelligence system and the cover of the counter-subversive war.
