Murder of suspected subversive in Tuccuccasa

In 1984, residents of Paltamarca captured an alleged subversive and killed him in Tuccuccasa, Pachamarca district. This event occurred in the context of the organization of counter-subversive peasant patrols promoted by the Army in the area. The event took place shortly after the military arrested and executed five people suspected of being subversives in Mamapancha, also in the district of Pachamarca, on November 20, 1984. The action reflects the participation of civilians in actions against alleged members of the PCP-SL during the period of greatest violence in the province of Churcampa.
