Death of Guillermina Galindo Bejar

Guillermina Galindo Bejar, a member of the board of directors of a peasant community in Ayacucho, was murdered in 1984, allegedly by the PCP-SL. Her death is part of the systematic elimination of social leaders, especially women, during the internal armed conflict.

Guillermina Galindo Bejar was a woman leader who held the position of Board Member in a Peasant Community or association of peasants in Ayacucho. She was assassinated in 1984 during the internal armed conflict. According to CVR records, the alleged perpetrators of her death were the PCP-SL (Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path). Her case is part of the PCP-SL offensive against social leaders, particularly women who led grassroots organizations in rural areas. This assassination occurred in the context of the Shining Path's strategy of eliminating any leadership they did not control in the territories where they sought to establish their dominance.
