On December 11, 1983, villagers from various communities in the districts of Vilca, Manta and Acobambilla (province of Huancavelica) were gathered by militants of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso in Vilca. The subversives organized these villagers as a 'mass' to assault three Production Units of SAIS Cahuide: Tucle, Laive and Antapongo, located in the district of Chongos Alto, province of Huancayo. This event is part of the Shining Path's strategy to destroy the agrarian associative companies and mobilize the peasant population in "people's war" actions. The assault was carried out with people forcibly mobilized from communities in Huancavelica to Junin territory.
