First PCP-SL incursion to SAIS Cahuide

In December 1983, the PCP-SL carried out its first raid on the SAIS Cahuide, simultaneously attacking the Laive, Antapongo and Tucle-Rio de la Virgen production units to seize explosives, ammunition and livestock.

The first incursion of the Communist Party of Peru-Sendero Luminoso into SAIS Cahuide took place in December 1983. The attack was simultaneous against three production units: Laive, Antapongo and Tucle-Rio de la Virgen. The main objective of this action was to seize explosives, ammunition and cattle. This raid marked the beginning of a stage of systematic attacks against the infrastructure and officials of SAIS Cahuide that would increase from 1987 onwards.
