On November 26, 1983, the PCP-SL executed three Soras community leaders, accusing them of being informers. This event occurred in a context where the demands of the war were becoming more pressing and the support of the community members was becoming more and more forced, with public demonstrations of rejection, especially by some community leaders. Tensions increased until culminating in this execution. A few days after this event, a detachment of Sinchis was installed in the area. On December 8, they confronted a column of the PCP-SL, killing one of the subversives.
