Televised debates between the four main candidates for mayor of Lima (Amiel, Barnechea, Barrantes and Grados) held on October 28 and 31, 1983, with great media coverage prior to the municipal elections.
On October 28 and 31, 1983, debates were held between the four main candidates for mayor of Lima. The participants were Amiel of the PPC, Barnechea of the PAP, Barrantes of the IU and Grados of the AP. These debates were widely covered by the media. The event was held in the context of the municipal elections to be held on November 13, 1983, in which Alfonso Barrantes Lingán of Izquierda Unida (United Left) would be the winner.
