Tsiriari Massacre

Massacre perpetrated by the Peruvian Army in Tsiriari, Junín, which left 80 victims dead. Evidence of rape was found in at least one of the victims before their execution.

On August 19, 1983, the Peruvian Army perpetrated a massacre in Tsiriari, department of Junin. Eighty fatalities were recorded, of which 79 were unidentified and one was identified as a woman. The remains found showed evidence of sexual violence prior to the murder. One of the victims showed clear signs of having been raped before being executed.
