Strike decreed by PCP-SL in Ayacucho

The Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path (PCP-SL) decreed a forced strike in the department of Ayacucho that lasted two days, on July 25 and 26, 1983. This strike took place in the context of the second wave of the First Military Campaign of the PCP-SL, which took place from July to October 1983. The strike was part of the strategy of territorial control and demonstration of power of the subversive group in the region, which at that time had been under military control since December 1982.
