Arrest of Izquierda Unida militant held for two years at El Frontón

On June 22, 1983, William Zabarburú, librarian of the Labor Cultural Center of Cerro de Pasco, Izquierda Unida militant and candidate of the Partido Unificado Mariateguista (PUM) for the department of Cerro de Pasco, was arrested. He was imprisoned in the El Frontón prison for two years, unjustly accused of terrorism, being part of the persecution against legal left-wing militants.
