Attack against Acción Popular's local office in Puno

On April 23, 1983, members of the PCP-SL committed an attack against the headquarters of the Acción Popular party in the city of Puno. This attack was part of a series of violent actions by the PCP-SL against political and governmental infrastructure during the month of April 1983. The attack took place in a context of an intense military offensive in the rural areas of Ayacucho and serious human rights violations in the region.
