Attack on Acción Popular's local office in Puno

On April 23, 1983, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso attacked the premises of the Acción Popular party in the city of Puno. This attack was part of a series of actions directed against public and local institutions of the ruling party during the first years of the internal armed conflict in the department of Puno. The objectives of the PCP-SL in this initial period (1980-1983) were mainly focused on attacking the premises of state institutions and the ruling party by means of dynamite attacks.
