Death of 16 school children in San Jacinto

On April 13, 1983, in San Jacinto, Ayacucho, elements identified by the villagers as Sinchis threw bombs at a school. This attack resulted in the death of 16 schoolchildren. The event occurred in the context of an intense military offensive in rural areas and small towns in the department of Ayacucho, where serious human rights violations were taking place. This incident was part of a series of massacres and attacks that took place during April 1983 in different localities of Ayacucho.
