Attack on SAIS Cahuide

PCP-SL militants set fire to a vehicle of SAIS Cahuide in Chupuro, Huancayo, injuring two employees. The attack was part of a systematic campaign against SAIS in the region.

On March 3, 1983, in the district of Chupuro (province of Huancayo), militants of the PCP-SL set fire to a transport vehicle belonging to the SAIS Cahuide. During the attack, two SAIS employees were injured. This attack was part of a systematic campaign by the PCP-SL against the installations of the Sociedades Agrarias de Interés Social (SAIS) in the region. Attacks on SAIS intensified in the first months of 1983 as part of the Shining Path strategy to destroy existing agrarian structures.
