Arrest and disappearance of Soto Espinoza brothers

Brothers Hilario and Alejandro Soto Espinoza were arrested on February 10, 1983 by military personnel from the Millpo Counter-Subversive Base in Paucarbamba, Churcampa. Unlike other detainees who were released, they never reappeared.

On February 10, 1983, the brothers Hilario and Alejandro Soto Espinoza were detained by military personnel in the district of Paucarbamba. The military patrols were leaving the counter-subversive base installed in the town of Millpo, in the highlands of the district of Paucarbamba, to go through the communities and towns in the area. The Soto Espinoza brothers were detained during one of these operations and taken to the military base for interrogation. Unlike other villagers who were released after the interrogations, the Soto Espinoza brothers never reappeared, making them cases of forced disappearance.
