Marine raid in Luricocha
Marines commit abuses and murders in Luricocha communities
In 1983, Marines committed crimes and abuses in communities in the Luricocha district. Testimonies describe the marines as coming from 'another nation', evidencing the local population's perception of the military as foreigners. Because some villagers were linked to terrorism, the marines indiscriminately killed villagers.
