Mixed base installation in Pallqas

A mixed law enforcement base was installed in Pallqas in January 1983 after the massacre of 40 community members by the PCP-SL. From there, the first peasant patrols were organized in the area.

In January 1983, a mixed base composed of Sinchis, police and Republican Guard was installed in the community of Pallqas. This installation occurred after the massacre of 40 community members in the temple of the same town at the hands of subversives of the PCP-SL. In mid-January, the police and the Sinchis organized the first peasant patrols in Ninabamba, Mollebamba and Santa Carmen from this base. The Pallqas base later withdrew in 1987, and villagers reported mistreatment and abuse during their presence.
