Antepongo unit onslaught
The Antepongo production unit suffered attacks in 1983 and 1987 that made its continuity unsustainable. These attacks generated conflicts over land ownership between peasant communities and SAIS Cahuide.
The Antepongo production unit suffered attacks during 1983 that seriously affected its operations. These attacks were repeated in 1987, making the continuity of this production unit unsustainable. As a consequence of these attacks, the unit's own members began to point out that Antepongo's lands should be returned to the possession of the partner communities: Chongos Alto, Llamasipsillon, Palaco, and Palmayoc. This situation generated territorial conflicts, including a lawsuit filed by the Huasicancha peasant community against SAIS Cahuide and the Agrarian Reform Office demanding restitution of the property related to the former Antapongo hacienda and Río de la Virgen.
