Military court constituted in Ayacucho

On December 29, 1982, a military tribunal was set up in Ayacucho to deal with cases of alleged police and military excesses, according to General EP Clemente Noel Moral. This tribunal was established in the context of the taking of internal control of the department by the Armed Forces.

General EP Clemente Noel Moral assured that since December 29, 1982, a military tribunal had been constituted to deal with cases of alleged police and military excesses. This statement was made on January 17, 1983. The tribunal was established in the context of the assumption of internal control of the department of Ayacucho by the Armed Forces, which occurred on December 31, 1982 with the deployment of 2,000 troops in the provinces in emergency. The constitution of this military tribunal took place days after President Fernando Belaunde Terry's ultimatum for the subversives to surrender their weapons before the Armed Forces took control of the emergency zone.
